HID Trusted Tags are available in multiple form factors including rugged or tamper evident designs and are based on chipsets from major chip vendors like EM, NXP or SIC operating under a common authentication platform. HID Trusted Tags are NFC Forum Tag Type 4 compliant and work with any NFC forum compliant device. Consequently, it’s impossible to read HID Prox cards with an NFC reader. The HID Prox system operates at a carrier frequency of 125 kHz. HID card readers are used in access control systems to open doors. HID cards, also called prox cards, proximity cards & access control cards, are cards that use RFID embedded technology. These employ an RFID between the card and the reader and so do not require insertion of the card. The MIFARE name is derived from the term Mikron FARE Collection system, which is the trademark of NXP Semiconductors. RFID cards, radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) card and MIFARE cards are all contactless cards.
